It's Saturday morning, and I slept late! For the first time all SUMMER!
Holla kids,
So, it's Saturday morning, and i'm about to leave for Greenville to help out with that charity run, and hopefully see some fun fun people! I'm posting before I leave this morning, because I'm not sure that I'll have internet access again before Monday morning. So Thursday night, I had an amazing dinner at Sushi 101 with Josh Copeland and Christine Rowland. I also got to meet two of Christine's Teach for America friends, who are really nice and seem like lots of fun.
Yesterday at work was rather uneventful. I was actually semi-busy most of the day. I didn't read a magazine or book, and didn't update the blog. It's amazing how time flies when you've actually GOT SOMETHING TO DO AT WORK. :) Not that I'm complaining, haha.
So I'm going to Greenville shortly, and I'm lunching with the Schoonmaker's Sunday after church - which I'm really excited about. I haven't seen either of them since commencement, although I've had a couple extended conversations with Brucifer on the telephone while sitting at my desk, not working. ;) I'm also going to see Nikel and Tessa for the first time since commencement, although, I'll be seeing them again shortly, when we go to see "The Devil Wears Prada" and KELLY CLARKSON IN CONCERT on July 4.
So yeah, then Sunday afternoon, I may be making an impromptu trip to Asheville with Big Papi (i.e. my dad) to visit this lady who used to live in our neighborhood. She was always really sweet, and took care of her mother until just recently, when her mother passed away. (All this responsibility was left to her because her brother was one of these moped-driving, malt-liquor swilling, hard drug taking, good for nothing people, who on more than one occasion, stole shit out of my dad's parked car over night - INCLUDING, but not limited to: his checkbook, cd's, and a tank of gas - by syphoning. I know. WTF?)
Anyway, this lady's mother just passed a few years ago, and she moved to Asheville to FINALLY start her own life - mid-30's - only to find out that she has stage 3 ovarian cancer, and has less than a year to live. It's the most genuinely heart-breaking story I've ever been this close to. It really sucks. So, we may be going to visit her on Sunday afternoon. We'll see.
Anyway, I'm about to hop in the shower and head on down the road. Hit my cell piece if you're in Greenville this weekend and want to play.
