Headshots, etc.

So it's been AGES since i last updated, but whoa damn have i been busy. The fringe festival at BU closes this weekend. What an intense process! I had no idea how insane the process for fringe was. Basically, we had a couple weeks to learn music, a week of staging rehearsals, a week of tech rehearsals, and then we opened. It was crazy, but my show was a ton of fun. And one of the best parts was getting to know the undergrads who were in the chorus with me. They are SO MUCH FUN - and I wouldn't have known just how fun, had we not done this show together. So that's awesome.
In other news, I sat for new headshots a couple weeks ago. Friends on facebook will already know, b/c I made it my profile pic, but I'm pretty pleased. It was NOT, however, an easy process. I rented a zipcar (www.zipcar.com) to get out to the studio, b/c it's at Porter Square in Cambridge and can easily take over an hour if you take the T. However, driving in Boston is complete insanity. I swear to God, I get lost EVERY TIME I get behind the wheel. Without fail. Emperically - I am incapable of driving in Boston. I was a half-hour late for my shoot, haha. [That being said, I've reserved a zipcar for the whole day Friday, when Sara comes to visit!!!] But luckily, we still took over 260 shots during my time.
So yeah. I'm all kinds of stoked about coming home for Thanksgiving. You know, Furman was less than 2 hours away from home, and although I never went home, I guess I never realized how nice it was to be that close, and to know that I could hop in the car and go if I wanted. I'm SO excited to go home and see family. I remember when Lee went to MSM, she said that she really wanted to live in a city and to discover all the things about herself that she really needed to live on her own in a new place to discover. I totally feel that now. Especially with the things that've happened at home in my absence, and the things that have happened here in Boston, there's a weird comfort in knowing that when I go back to Gastonia (aka the place I was itching to leave all summer) the people I love will be there waiting for me.

I hate when people pour their hearts out online, so I feel this is a good time to tell a dirty joke. Bwahaha. So the new Christopher Guest movie is coming out soon, and there's a line where the guy who played the commentator at the dog show in Best in Show says, "Well, you know what they say about the blind prostitute ... 'you really have to hand it to her'."
heehee. Also, Aimee Mann just released a christmas album. Go out and buy it IMMEDIATELY. AND Desperate Housewives is rocking this season. We're back to the deliciously smutty sentiment of its inception, and I'm LOVING it. If you're not watching, you should be.
Cheers, friends. :)
